We got a nice mention by Powerpopaholic in their review of the IPO Volume 18 compilation album!
We are featured on the I.P.O. compilation album!
Track 18 on the I.P.O. Volume 18 compilation CD – the “golden track” – is our very own The Ostrich Defense! You can buy the CD at PopGeekHeaven
Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!
Buzz is building for our upcoming appearance at the International Pop Overthrow Festival this Sunday at the Red Line Tap. Radio One Chicago has put it in their recommended shows for the week. The Illinois Entertainer gives us a highlight in their coverage of the event. People are stoked and so are we! We hope you can join us. We go on first at 8 o’clock, so don’t be late!
The Pickpockets are back
After the miserable winter we’ve all been having, we’ve got some good news. It’s been a while, but we’re happy to be announcing some shows!
First off, we’ll be shaking off the dust at our home away from home, Silvie’s lounge (1902 E Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL 60613) on March 7th. Doors open at 7 and the show starts at 9. We’re not sure what time we play, but we’l put it on our website and Facebook as soon as we know.
Secondly, we’re excited to be performing as part of the International Pop Overthrow festival. We’ll be playing at the Red Line Tap (7006 N Glenwood Ave) on the evening of April 19th. We Kick off a packed bill that includes Broadfield Marchers, The Red Plastic Buddha, The Evening Attraction, and The Luck of Eden Hall. We go on at 8pm.
These shows will also mark the debut of our new drummer, PJ Wintermute. We’re excited to have him on board and can’t wait for you all to see him in action!
